Our New School App is Here!

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new school app for parents/carers! 

We are currently in the process of launching a new parents’ information service to replace MyEd and FireFly which have now ended due to a change of software suppliers. The new service is called Sims Parents. It is a website that you can sign into, and there is also an app that you can install on a mobile device should you wish to do so. The service provides you with information about:

  • Attendance
  • Achievement awards
  • School reports
  • Timetable

We will always notify you by email when your child’s school reports are published and these will be available for you to view on the website or in the app. Please note there is currently no homework information available in the app. All homework is set on Microsoft Teams and you can view this with your child by signing into their school account.

We encourage all parents and carers to download the new SIMs in touch app as soon as it becomes available to them. This is an extremely useful tool which will not only help to strengthen the communication channel between school and home, but also allow families to regularly monitor and celebrate student achievement and progress throughout their child’s Hinckley Academy journey.

If you child is in year 9, 11, 12 or 13

You should already have received an email during the last few weeks inviting you to register for Sims Parents. Over the next couple of days, we will be re-sending this invitation to any parents who have not already registered. If you have not received this by the end of the week, then please contact us (details below), and we will confirm your details and re-send the invitation email to you.

If your child is in year 7, 8 or 10

We are rolling out the new service gradually, and it will be made available to years 7, 8 and 10 as follows:

Year 10: Friday 19th November

Year 8: Friday 26th November

Year 7: Friday 3rd  December

On this date you will receive an email containing the invitation to register and a separate email with some further details and instructions, should you need them.
