Wearing of Face Masks

Precautionary measure implemented as directed by the local authority for all Leicestershire schools.

Dear Parents and carers,

All secondary schools in Leicestershire have been asked to reintroduce the wearing of face coverings in corridors. The county in general and Hinckley and Bosworth specifically, is experiencing an increase in cases of Covid 19 and in the run up to the Christmas break, we want to do all we can to minimise transmission in school and avoid anyone needing to isolate over the holiday. Currently, our cases in school are low but we feel this is a sensible precaution to protect or community.

Therefore, we strongly encourage all students to wear a face covering in corridors from Monday 29th November until the end of term in the first instance.

  • Face coverings are not required in classroom, outside or in our dining areas. However, students are welcome to do so if they wish to
  • We have a small supply of disposable masks we can offer as needed which students can get from tutors in registration

Please see the attached letter from the local authority which provides more detail on this decision.

Kind regards,

Lisa Hickman
Head of School
